The annual conference is an investment. It can be an expensive trip for a family but the rewards in terms of knowledge and new bonds usually far exceed the costs.
The Sotos Syndrome Support Association (SSSA) provides financial assistance for families to attend the annual conference. Assistance offered includes up to 2 nights’ accommodation at the conference hotel and conference registration for up to 2 adults and 2 children.
The SSSA is also now offering assistance to individuals with Sotos syndrome that are over 18 years of age and living independently of their parents. These individuals may apply for assistance to attend a conference every 3 years. Assistance is limited to two nights’ accommodation at the conference hotel and conference registration for ONLY the individual applying.
Funds are allocated on a combination of need and first-come, first-serve basis. Applicants must supply an explanation of their financial situation with their application.
Funds are limited so we seriously recommend that you investigate local government programs and fundraising options as well.
