2011 SSSA ConferenceJuly 29 - 31, 2011Williamsburg, Virginia
The 24th annual SSSA conference was held in Williamsburg, Virginia on July 29 - 31, 2011. It was one of our largest conferences ever with eighty-one families in attendance including 161 adults and 76 children. Seventy of the attendees had Sotos syndrome ranging in age from one year old up into their thirties. Returning families renewed friendships while first-time attendees experienced the relief and sense of belonging upon seeing another child that looked and behaved just like theirs for the very first time. For the first time, we had a large group of adults with Sotos syndrome at the conference and they greatly enjoyed meeting and sharing stories with one another about their experiences.
